Black Kiddy

In a deep forest there lives a goat. She has a lovely black kiddy. Every day she leaves the kiddy at home and goes to the field to graze. In the evening she comes home, knocks at the door and calls:

Black kiddy,

Lovely sonny,

I have walked over the hill and dale,

I have made sweet milk for you,

Open the door let me in,

And I will give(կտամ քեզ) you sweet, sweet milk,

Black kiddy,

Lovely sonny!

The kiddy jumps to his feet and opens the door. Mother goat gives him milk and goes to the field to graze again.

The wolf sees all this and one evening he comes up, knocks at the door and calls in his harsh voice:

Black kiddy,

Lovely sonny,

I have walked over the hill and dale,

I have made sweet milk for you,

Open the door let me in,

And I will give you sweet, sweet milk,

Black kiddy,

Lovely sonny!

The kiddy listens and listens and then asks:

”Who are you? I don’t know you. My mother doesn’t call that way. She has a sweet, soft voice. Go away…..Don’t come here any more”

The wolf goes away.

Soon mother goat comes, knocks at the door and calls:

Black kiddy,

Lovely sonny,

I have walked over the hill and dale,

I have made sweet milk for you,

Open the door let me in,

And I will give you sweet, sweet milk,

Black kiddy,

Lovely sonny!

The kiddy opens the door, drinks his milk and tells his mother about the wolf.

“Ba, ba, ba, ba dear Blacky….Well done! It is good that you didn’t open(չբացեցիր) the door. It was the wolf(գայլն էր). If he comes again(Եթե նա կրկին գա), shout at him, “If you don’t go away my mother will kill you(քեզ կսպանի) with her sharp horns”.

Dashing through the snow
In a one-horse open sleigh,
O’er the fields we go,
Laughing all the way.
Bells on bob-tails ring,
Making spirits bright.
What fun it is to ride and sing
A sleighing song tonight, oh!

Jingle bells, jingle bells,
Jingle all the way.
Oh what fun it is to ride
In a one-horse open sleigh, hey!
Jingle bells, jingle bells,
Jingle all the way.
Oh what fun it is to ride,
In a one-horse open sleigh.

The Ugly Duckling

Mummy Duck lives on a farm. In her nest, she has five little eggs and one big egg. One day, the five little eggs start to crack.
Tap, tap, tap! Five pretty, yellow baby ducklings come out. Then the big egg starts to crack. Bang, bang, bang! One big,
ugly duckling comes out. ‘That’s strange,’ thinks Mummy Duck.
Nobody wants to play with him. ‘Go away,’ say his brothers and sisters. ‘You’re ugly!’
The ugly duckling is sad. So he goes to find some new friends.
‘Go away!’ says the pig.
‘Go away!’ says the sheep.
‘Go away!’ says the cow.
‘Go away!’ says the horse.
No one wants to be his friend. It starts to get cold. It starts to snow! The ugly duckling finds an empty barn and lives there. He is cold, sad and alone.
Then spring comes. The ugly duckling leaves the barn and goes back to the pond. He is very thirsty and puts his beak into the water. He sees a beautiful, white bird! ‘Wow!’ he says. ‘Who’s that?’
‘It’s you,’ says another beautiful, white bird.
‘Me? But I’m an ugly duckling.’
‘Not any more. You’re a beautiful swan, like me. Do you want to be my friend?’
‘Yes,’ he smiles.
All the other animals watch as the two swans fly away, friends forever.
